Minnesota Rallies Behind Navy Veteran Battling Cancer
“Mission to Remission “Benefit Announced
Owatonna, MN (March 5, 2025) – The community is coming together to support Dale Ulrich, Jr., a 34-year-old U.S. Navy veteran and dedicated behavioral health professional, who is battling Stage 4 Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC), suspected to be linked to burn pit exposure during his military service.
To aid Dale and his family, a special Mission to Remission fundraiser will take place on 4/12/2025 at the 3 Ten Event Center, featuring a silent and live auction, karaoke contest, raffles, and community support initiatives. This event aims to raise critical funds for medical expenses, long-term care, and financial support for Dale’s two children.
Organizer Jason Lennox, Dale’s brother, comments, "We've got one goal in mind - remission. To get there, we need to create enough support to allow Dale to focus fully on fighting this deadly disease. And that's what we're up to. Thank you for joining."
Dale’s journey has been one of unwavering resilience—both in service to his country and now in the fight of his life. Having dedicated his post-military career to helping others in behavioral health, he now finds himself needing support as he undergoes targeted therapy and treatment.
Dale comments, "Facing this diagnosis has been the toughest challenge of my life, but the support from my family, friends, and community has been my everything. Every day I wake up and thank the Lord for another breath, for another day here on this Earth. I wake up hopeful and look forward to a brighter future, and with all your support, I'm able to do that."
